Scaffold Paper Chair    1998

1998
tracing paper, wood

These works explore the relationship between architectural drawings and the objects they represent as well as the illusion of sketching to the object depicted. These chairs are constructed of flimsey architectural tracing paper, a paper architects use to quickly sketch out ideas for built forms.  Here built forms de-materialize by the elimination of all weight from the chair.
