The National Voter Registration Center 2008
commissioned by Pratt Institute, NYC
2008
The National Voter Registration Center reached out to unregistered citizens to encourage their participation in the 2008 presidential election. Folded into a car and unfurled in minutes on site, the Registration Center will be staffed by volunteers.
The center is constructed from layers of white peg board that sandwich the American flag. The flag unites the independent elements of the structure together acting as a hinge to allow the structure to fold origami-like, into a small peaked roof structure. To make the structure lighter and more transportable areas of the peg board were cut away to reveal the red, white and blue.
